Uninterruptible Power Supplies (UPS) can vary from 500VA to extensive rackable solutions. These provide continuous power or battery backup to computers when utility power is not available. This allows times to shut down computers & fileservers or enough time to switch to a standby generator.

Many systems we implement have one UPS source with the power distributed to each computer. We normally use red sockets to distinguish the UPS supply.
